Sky Poker Players Review

Sky Poker is one of the most popular sites for players from the UK to play. Sky is a household name in the UK,  was founded in 2007, and well known as the market leader in the satellite television and gaming industry. Sky is fully licensed and regulated, listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a member of the FTSE 100 group of leading companies. Sky Poker is an independent site – not part of a network. In addition to the download version you can go for the instant play, ideal for MAC or Linux players.

At Sky Poker you play in pound sterling (£) at UK friendly times, this top site is perfect for low to micro players who enjoy a community based friendly site with an active forum. The graphics are clear and attractive and, most importantly, the software is easy to negotiate around. With Sky you have one account for all four Sky products: Sky poker, Sky bet, Sky Vegas and Sky bingo.

You can watch Sky Poker TV for free – the TV Schedule is online. ‘Sky Poker Highlights’ is where the poker highlights from the TV tables are shown and discussed. The games where this could happen to your hand, and your play analysed, are clearly marked in the lobby with a TV set so, the choice is yours! This undoubtedly creates a great sense of community at Sky and one of it’s main draws for some people.

Bonus

There’s a very attractive no deposit bonus –  £10 free – for all newly registered Sky Poker members. That’s as well as the 200% match bonus worth up to £500 on your first deposit. Don’t miss out, see our Sky Poker Welcome Bonus page for full details of how this incentive scheme works. New players also get 4x tournament tokens worth £40 to the £25,000 GTD Super UKOPS Bounty Hunter tournaments in November.

Loyalty

There’s a great Player Reward Scheme, you earn points whilst you play then swap your points for cash. The Players Reward Scheme is an opt in scheme, use the code REWARDS to join up, see our dedicated Sky Poker Loyalty Scheme page for all the details. Sky Poker look after their loyal players with cash for points every month.

Cash Games

The cash games are easily found and the tables have wonderfully local names such as Shepton Mallett and Skegness! Plenty of variety of games but marred by low off peak traffic if you work shifts. The stakes ranged from Nailsea at £0.02 / £0.04 up to Bellagio at £100 / £200.

Sit and Gos

I found the sit and go’s sadly under used out of peak hours, a negative effect of having UK players only. The buy ins ranged from £0.30 to £420. The action picks up in the evenings and at weekends.

Tournaments

Players who like to play at lower levels are well looked after at Sky with plenty of choice of games – especially at peak playing times. There are good guaranteed tournaments to join right through the week and top promotions running.

Sky Poker is a sound, reliable site aimed squarely at the UK market. I like the look and the feel of this site. Give it a try, I think you’ll be impressed!  I hope you have enjoyed this Sky Poker review.
